Catherine Cottingham, Director of Education
For over twenty years, Catherine Cottingham has dedicated herself to teaching, developing curriculum, overseeing school programs, and supporting fellow educators.
Catherine champions interdisciplinary learning, guiding students to understand how fields of study connect in the real world.
As a trained Upper and Lower Elementary Montessori Guide, she believes an educator’s primary role is to ignite in children both an expansive joy of discovery and a desire to contribute to a stronger and more innovative world. She sees these skills as indispensable for success in higher education and beyond.
Originally from Connecticut, Catherine now resides in South Austin with her husband, children and dogs. Her lifelong love for school, teaching, and being with children continues to drive her dedication to education and innovation. Her other interests include hiking, reading, creating and building, gardening and cooking. Catherine’s commitment to education is guided by a simple yet profound belief in the potential of every student and the transformative power of learning.
