FAQs

  • At Austin Micro School, taking a First Principles approach means breaking down education into its most basic elements to build a meaningful and effective learning experience from the ground up.

We focus on the fundamental purpose of education, which is to develop young leaders who are equipped with the knowledge and skills to contribute positively to society.

By questioning assumptions and understanding the core principles of learning, we tailor our curriculum to each student's unique needs, foster a diverse and supportive teaching environment, and utilize various learning settings to provide real-world applications of knowledge.

This approach ensures that students achieve holistic growth—cognitively, emotionally, socially, physically, and ethically—and are prepared to navigate and thrive in a rapidly changing world.

  • Our curriculum incorporates many elements of the Montessori approach, such as mixed-aged classrooms, hands-on materials, and a focus on student-led learning.

We believe that Maria Montessori would have continued to develop the curriculum, materials, and methods to accommodate the needs and opportunities of the modern world and this is our aspiration at Austin Micro.
